Limitations of the Text Detection API

The Text Detector interface of the Shape Detection API is an experimental feature that can identify text within images and videos. However, it currently works only in Chrome and Edge and requires the Experimental Web Platform features flag to be enabled. Also while this API can detect text regions, it cannot extract the actual text content from those regions on its own.
